Take a Line for a Walk is an experimental drawing workshop that gently flips the script on what drawing is supposed to look like. No pressure. No perfection. No rubbers required.
This session is designed for the “I can’t even draw a stick figure” crowd and for the confident sketchbook carriers who fancy a creative shake-up. It’s less about getting it “right” and more about getting curious about lines, movement, marks, and what happens when you let your hand wander without overthinking it.
Expect playful prompts, unexpected discoveries, and plenty of moments where you surprise yourself. These workshops are designed to spark joy, loosen perfectionism, and remind you that creativity belongs to everyone.

Bethan, your host, is warm, light-hearted, and fully in your corner. She’s the kind of facilitator who’ll cheer your wobbliest line like it belongs in a gallery. You’ll be guided, encouraged, and gently nudged outside your comfort zone — all in a way that feels joyful and safe.

Booking in advance is strongly advised as workshops are popular and we have a capacity limit for the session. There will be a very limited number of tickets on the door, which are first-come-first-served. Please note: we do not operate a waiting list.

No parking at the venue.
Step-free entrance to The Nest.
Access to the toilet is step-free, but not accessible by wheelchair due to building restraints. The nearest disabled toilet accessible to The Nest visitors is The Oxford Wine Cafe on Little Clarendon Street.
Assistance animals are welcome.
Seating - Generally round stalls provided. If you need a chair with a backrest, we can provide this.
Lighting - Is adjustable in cases where more or less light may be helpful.
Group size - Drawing Club’s capacity for the venue is 20 people.
Noise levels - Quiet chat with gentle music playing in the background. It’s a wholesome, gentle start to the day energy.

Closest disabled parking
Attendees can use Blue Badge parking on any bays outside the venue, any resident or pay and display parking in the area. There is also no issue with Blue Badge parking on double yellow lines for up to three hours on any of the roads near the venue.
Transport and parking information
Parking near The Nest includes free on-street options on nearby streets with time limits (free from 6.30pm), some street parking in the Jericho area which can be free for up to 3 hours on some days with a ‘no return’ policy, and paid parking nearby including St Giles, Gloucester Green, Westgate, Worcester Street, and Oxpens. There are several bus stops on St Giles including Multiple bus lines stop near St Giles, including 14, 300, S1, S4, S5, and X20. There are many bike racks on Little Clarendon Street to lock up bicycles.
